Pre AP Pre-Calculus

Prerequisite: Algebra II or Pre AP Algebra II

About this course: This course includes the study of graphs, the use of trigometic functions, and many equations dealing with the graphs (there is no regular course).

Verdict:  "Some students say it is a lot easier than Algebra II and the stuff that Ms. Carl teaches is pretty simple and as an added bonus the class prepares you for AP Calculus."

AP Calculus

Prerequisite: "It is a must to take Pre AP Pre-Calculus.  You wouldn't want to take this class 'cold turkey'."

About this course:  This course is very difficult and challenging.  It compose of  mainly Trigonometry and Algebra.  The good things about this class is that it's a challenge and it offers an exam (If you make a good score, you don't have to take a math class in college period)."

Verdict:  "Either you what to be on the top of your class or majoring in math, this course is a go-go but if not, I ask you to take College Algebra.

Examples on what to encounter by taking these classes

                                        

"Finding the area of an ellipse.   This is taught in the second semester of Pre AP Pre-Calculus."  

  "This is some pretty easy stuff.  This is taught in AP Calculus.  It's better to work this on a calculator"

"Some other useful stuff to use for shopping at a store, just kidding.  This is also taught in AP Calculus and it comes useful if you plan to be an engineer."
