Directions

   This page contains maps and directions to Giddings, TX.  It also has pictures of landmarks that will help you find your way to Giddings High School.  Giddings is located in Central Texas.  Giddings is located where Highway 290 and Highway 77 intersect.  Highway 290 runs east to west.  It runs from east from Austin to Houston.  Highway 77 runs north to south.  It runs from Waco down to
Victoria.

        Giddings is the county seat of Lee County.  The other "towns" in Lee County are:  Lexington, and Dime Box.  But there are wide spots in the road like:  Northrup, Serbin, Manheim, Lincoln, Loebau, Fedor, Tanglewood, and Blue.  These last eight are not really towns, you could call them communities.

    To get to Giddings High School from Austin, you would get on Highway 290 somewhere in Austin and head east.  You would go through Manor, Elgin, and Paige on the way.  290 will take you all the way through Giddings.  But to get to the school once you reach Giddings you would turn left onto Highway 77.  You take 77 over the railroad bridge to the outskirts of town.  Giddings High School is located on the left of Highway 77.  You can't miss it. 

    To get to Giddings High School from Houston you take Katy Freeway/Highway 290 west.  You take Highway 290 out of Houston and keep on going straight.  Highway 290 will take you past Hempstead and through Brenham.  But at Brenham you have to take the turn off to go to Austin.  From then on, its a straight drive to Giddings.  Go through Giddings till you reach the intersection of 290 and 77.  When you reach the intersection, turn right onto 77.  Follow 77 north till you see Giddings High School on the left.

    Now lets say that you are coming to Giddings High School from the San Antonio area.  One way to get here is by taking Interstate 10 east from San Antonio.  Go straight on this until you reach the intersection of I-10 and Highway 77 just on the outskirts of Schulenburg.  Take 77 north through La Grange all the way to Giddings.  Go all the way through town on 77.  Giddings High School will be on the outside of Giddings on the left of Highway 77. 

    Say you're coming from Dallas/Fort Worth area or Waco.  Take I-35 south out of Dallas till you get to Waco.  Once you get to Waco, get off of I-35 and onto State Highway 7.  If you are in Waco already, just take State Highway 7.  Do not worry about the directions before this..  Take Highway 7 a little bit past Cameron till you see a sign for the turnoff for Highway 77.  After you get onto Highway 77, just stay on it till you see Giddings High School on the right side of Highway 77.

Giddings High School is the blue dot.

Giddings High School is located on Highway 77 North across the railroad bridge.  
Giddings Middle School is right behind the high school.  
Giddings Intermediate School is located at 1402 E. Industry St.  
Giddings Elementary School is located at 1010 E Industry St.  

These directions are general and may not have all the roads and turn-offs that you need to get to Giddings High School.  Please consult a map before leaving to see if the directions are right.
