Childhood

Chad Rood was born on a dark and foggy morning in the middle of July to George and Dianne Rood.  He was born in Saginaw, a town of 100,000, and lived there most of his childhood life.  His childhood was where he became obsessed with Michigan Wolverine football and the Detroit Tigers. He was rarely seen without a Michigan hat or shirt on.  In his childhood, he played football, basketball, and baseball and claims he excelled at everything.  He moved to Odessa when he was 13.  His childhood heroes were Jim Harbaugh (a Michigan quarterback) and Rod Careu (Major Leaguer) He also claims fame to being a fashion icon in middle school and high school by wearing mid-length colored socks that matched the polo shirt he wore that day.

Education

Mr. Rood graduated from Odessa    High School.  He left Odessa and     went to Austin College in Sherman to play college football.  He remained   there for four years before transferring  to the University of Texas-Permian   Basin (UTPB) where he played  semi-pro football on the side.  During  this transfer he changed majors from pre-med to mass communications.       He said," It took me seven years to graduate, but those seven years were  the greatest years of my life.  He  recently just earned a masters degree from Sam Houston State.

Life After School

Mr. Rood, formerly known as Coach Rood, got his first coaching job at Odessa Permian where he taught speech.  He moved to Giddings during the summer of 2003 to become a receivers coach and teach Sociology, Psychology, Government, and Economics.  He left coaching after the spring of 2005 and became what we know him as today, the Assistant Principal.  While he was still coaching, he coached football, middle school and high school basketball, and track.

Hobbies/Free Time

During his free time, Mr. Rood enjoys being a kid and hanging out with friends.  On weekends, you can find Mr. Rood relaxing on his La-Z-Boy watching his big screen, high-def T.V. and his ESPN Gameplan for college football and his NFL Sunday Ticket.  Rood also likes to endeavor in the technologies of today by playing playstation 2(preferably NCAA 2007) with teenagers from around town.  Mr. Rood also "hoops it up" on Sundays at 5 p.m. if you want to come join.
