Mrs. Simmonds' primary interest is her grandbaby Molly and family. She also enjoys reading and working in her yard.

At the beginning, Mrs. Simmonds wasn't thinking about being a teacher. She decided to become a teacher when she met her future husband. Her biggest pet peeve is rude, disrespectful people.
