Giddings High School is located in Giddings, Texas, which is the County seat for Lee County. Giddings is located 55 miles southeast of Austin on Highway 290.
GHS is classified as a 3A High School with a student population of approximately 544, broken down as follows:
149 Freshmen
145 Sophomores
136 Juniors
114 Seniors
Giddings High School employs 49 professional educators and 10 instructional aides. The High School administrative staff consists of 1 Principal , 1 Assistant Principal and 2 Counselors. They are assisted by four secretaries. Our support staff consists of 15 people who love to keep our school clean!
Giddings High School provides a balanced curriculum for students grades nine through twelve. We also provide support programs including Hearing Impaired, Special Education, Gifted Education, Advanced Placement and Concurrent Credit.
Giddings High School's emphasis is on integration of technology into our curriculum. All classroom teachers have a PC with an internet connection. Grades are kept and submitted electronically and lesson plans are completed on-line. We have four classroom computer labs (with internet connection) for student use, each containing approximately 25 computers. The library has an internet computer lab available for class research. Each department has an Aver Key capable of displaying computer lessons for classroom instruction.
